Established in 1978 The Post Bar has been a cornerstone of the Detroit landscape for fun times and celebrating everything Detroit. Since then, The Post Bar has had over 33 years to eat, drink and get it right. The popularity spread from the cozy downtown haunt of thousands to 3 locations around metro Detroit. The philosophy is the same but each location has it’s own theme, energy and is wonderfully unique in its own regard. The post bars celebrated their 30th Year Anniversary in August of 2008, but on the scale of throwing a great party, The Post Bar is ‘29 and holding’!

The Post Bars’ resilience in an industry where fad bar concepts have a shelf life of three-five years is attributed to a time-tested “stick to the basics” business philosophy. At the heart of The Post’s 30 year success is an enduring commitment to customer service, a spirit of excellence, and innovation that brings guests back again and again. The multi-award winning Post has introduced weekly specials and a new, innovative menu with unprecedented daily specials that include fifty-percent savings on your entire food bill on Monday’s, $5.99 daily lunch specials that include a 22oz beer of the month and $1 Beer specials on Wednesdays.

Among many awards, The Post Bar has been voted by Real Detroit as the Best Bar Before A Piston’s Game, Best Bar Food and Best Sports Bar, to name a few of their many accolades, the bars have all had a facelift over time, allowing them to age more gracefully, with new twists on classic American fare, live music during the spring and summer, and updated TVs, bar tops and dance floors! So if it’s dining, dancing, or drinking Detroiter’s are looking for, they need look no further than one of The Post Bars near you including: Auburn Hills, Novi, and Detroit.

Detroit - established 1978
1978 was a very special year for Detroit residents. The Post Bar opened at Congress and Cass and quickly became one of the hottest spots in downtown Detroit. Owned and run by family – blood related and not - The Post was the place to kick back, put up your feet and let the music and drinks take you away.

With Joe Louis Arena just around the corner, the Downtown Post was, is, and always will be the best place before or after a Red Wings game. Not to mention that it is also a favorite among the Red Wings players and opposing teams’ players. The Post is so much a favorite, in fact, that the Stanley Cup has made numerous trips to The Post Downtown and we’re pretty sure it had fun!

We’re not certain if it’s the graffiti-covered walls, or the bar’s ‘anything and everything goes’ attitude, but people come from all over to visit one of Detroit’s oldest drinking establishments. From Brighton to Clawson, Royal Oak to Port Huron, they come to experience The Post and all the memories that it holds.

Auburn Hills - Established 2001
Located directly across the street from the Palace of Auburn Hills on Lapeer Road, The Post Auburn Hills is convenient, to say the least. Real Detroit Magazine recognized The Post Auburn Hills as the perfect pre- and post-Palace event destination when it named us “Best Bar Before A Pistons Game”. Our new menu has a great selection, terrific presentation and quality, and attractive prices…the ingredients for all ages to enjoy the best game-night dining, business lunches, happy hour and carry-out.

Novi - Established 2003
The newest addition to The Post family, The Post Novi, opened in 2003. “Big” is clearly an understatement for its 12,000 square ft. of traditional indoor space and both indoor and outdoor patios. That translates into plenty of room for parties - and Novi certainly likes to party! With a dance floor and both live music and fantastic DJs, The Post Novi has not missed a beat since it opened. The new menu offers a great selection, terrific presentation and quality, and attractive prices, making The Post Novi the perfect setting for all ages for a business lunch, happy hour, dinner and carry-out.
